Graduated from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia, Faculty of Civil/Structural Engineering in 1988 with a Major in Structural Engineering. Worked in former Yugoslavia in Engineering and Construction for three years before emigrating to Calgary, Canada in 1994, and immediately began working with Engineering companies in the Oil and Gas industry. Dragan has worked on many Oil & Gas and infrastructure projects in Canada and USA over the past 28 years. Some of the infrastructure projects included substations, renewable energy (wind farms) and transmission lines where Dragan gained both knowledge and design experience within the Electrical industry beside his own field of Engineering.
For the past few years, both Dragan and Aleksandar have worked closely, exploring and investigating the North American electrical distribution systems to see where the major differences and potential opportunities exist between the European and Canadian systems. Dragan's detailed research has identified numerous electrical challenges within the Americas. Together, in collaboration with Aleksandar, they developed and patented a new Method and System for reducing losses during distribution with the deployment of MVROT, a new innovative technology. Dragan was one of the co-authors on the publication of a White Papers “CIGRÉ - W2.07 - Abs 12” at the Cigré conference 2018 in Calgary and “CIGRE-299 Paper” at the Cigré conference in Toronto 2020.
Dragan, as co-inventor with Aleksandar, received three USPTO patents. First “METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING LOSSES DURING DISTRIBUTION” effective February 12, 2019, second and third USPTO patent for the Medium Voltage Regulator and Optimizing Terminal (MVROT) - “LOSSES REDUCTION FOR ELECTRICAL POWER DISTRIBUTION” effective May 12, 2020 and September 01, 2020.
Dragan is founder and President of Energo Group Canada Inc.
Graduated from the University of Nis, Serbia, Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1998.
Upon graduation, Aleksandar started working for the large utility company in Sarajevo, Bosnia where he gained critical experience in electrical distribution systems while rebuilding the entire country electrical system destroyed during the civil war. Throughout his work in distribution and while working closely with transformer manufacturers, Aleksandar saw opportunities for improvements, not only within distribution, but with dry type, environmentally friendly, transformer technology that could be made into Smart units.
In 2002, Aleksandar created VTOP, his first unique dry type transformer that provides power directly from high voltage lines to low voltage users with built in special protection from overvoltage and undervoltage. After that success he formed Energo Group Sarajevo DOO as a consortium of three major companies from the former Yugoslavia and established a research center with the University of Sarajevo, Electrical and Mechanical Faculties. In 2009, together they developed the unique VROT Smart unit that automatically corrects and regulates voltages in low voltage distribution systems by balancing loads. He presented papers for VROT at CIRED Europe in 2016.
In 2014 Aleksandar become one of the founders of Energo Group Canada Inc. and is an instrumental co-inventor with Dragan Lemez for the USPTO patented Method and System, (reducing losses during distribution) and the USPTO patented MVROT unit. Aleksandar is co-authors of the White Paper “CIGRÉ - W2.07 - Abs 12” presented at the Cigré Conference 2018 in Calgary, addressing MVROT benefits to the electrical distribution systems, and “CIGRE-299 Paper” presented at the Cigré Conference in Toronto 2020, addressing the MVROT Pilot Project success completed with Manitoba Hydro in Winnipeg.
Aleksandar (Sasha) is co-founder of Energo Group Canada Inc. and owner of Energo Group Sarajevo tying EGC, EGSA, our well-established factory and UFSA together.
Joseph Lee is a Professional Engineer with over 40 years of civil/structural engineering and related industry experience. Beginning with a structural steel fabrication firm, moved from design engineer to lead engineer, Department Manager, Engineering Manager, Project Manager and finally to Manager of Projects with a technical staff of over 150 people. Joe has progressed to increased levels of responsibility, demonstrating core competencies and success in performing each successive role.
Joe was than retained by a multinational Oil & Gas Corporation to serve as their 'Owners' representative for all civil/structural matters related to the design and construction of a $6.5 billion Upgrading Facility. Successful completion of this project resulted in a Project Manager position with an incentive-based design-build with a capital budget of $65M. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget. His demonstration of leadership, competence, vision, and strong negotiation skills lead to further Project Management roles in capital projects of $95M and $240M.
Joining Energo Group Canada Inc. in 2014 as part of the Management Team, Joe with his group, is responsible for the promotion and advancement of EGC's product line within the Americas. Joe brings vast experience with multimillion dollar contracts and is one of the key members of EGC's Board of Directors. His experience brings great value in meetings with potential customers.
Professional Electrical Engineer with over 30 plus years of industry experience since graduating from Sudan University of Science and Technology in Electrical Power & Control Engineering and Khartoum Polytechnic in Electrical Power Engineering.
Kristo has a solid background in the detailed design of Indoor/outdoor (from 25kV to 500kV) electrical substation facilities, from site and equipment layouts, bus-work, ground grids, lightning shielding to underground cables and systems. He's played a key role in equipment Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, plus start-up and commissioning of facilities.
He's well versed with standards and design practices such as CEC, IEEE, ASNI, NEC and IEC.
Joining Energo Group Canada Inc in 2017 as Manager of Engineering for the Americas, Kristo is providing a pivotal role in the advancement of EGC's product line with his technical knowledge and product applications. Having worked from consultancy, maintenance & operation, construction, commissioning and start up roles, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences with practical and cost-effective solutions to electrical challenges.
